Logan and Scenic Rim Happy 100 Individual and Team Bicycle Ride

26th January 2021

What a wonderful celebration we had on Australia Day 2021.

Firstly the 100K Happy Birthday bike ride with 116 participants – 100 in the 100K ride and 16 in the 34K ride. Our EventBrite site was viewed 1073 times with the top three registrations coming from:

  1. Brisbane
  2. Goodna and
  3. Redland Bay

What a bonus for the Logan City and Scenic Rim Councils! Many of the participants were new to our region and commented on the beautiful scenery with most having no idea of the attractions in the area. They all want us to run the event again next year, which we will! We are already planning 3 rides – 35K, 70K and 100K.

There are examples of feedback in photos below and we could have put a lot more in if we had wanted to.

Then of course we had members and family for the live streaming of the Rotary Australia and Australia Day Council event from Melbourne. Everyone involved had a fun Day!  Special Thanks goes to all our volunteers and a big thank you to our Michelin Chef Stuart Louttit for both breakfast and lunch.

I wanted to say thanks to Rotary for the great organising which went into this day. It was a great success for all. It was my first big ride and everyone was so supportive and kind. The Beaudesert Cycling Club riders also deserve credit, for being helpful and encouraging All in all a fantastic day, see you 2022.

Thanks David, it was a great event. I think most riders would be happy to pay more for the entry fee next year to help you with your fundraising!

Thank you and to the Rotary Club for the ride and of course the BBQ after. It was a bit early for us in the morning, especially with my teenage boy but sure it was worth it. He enjoyed every bit of it and looking forward for next year. This would soon be a popular ride if not already.
